This Girls Story Organization in Partnership with DuCAP is excited to announce the upcoming Art Show Pop Up eligible for girls 13-19. We are excited you are interested in being a part of our FIRST in-person art show!
This Girls Story (TGS) is a quarterly girl-led magazine that showcases contributions from girls ages 13-19. With the possible exception of some editorial information, the magazine consists of completely girl-supplied content. The mission of TGS is to provide a creative platform where teens who identify as girls can express themselves, gain real life professional experience, and build confidence.
Through this art show, you will also have the opportunity to be published through the global magazine in its summer issue.

Nostalgia
“Nostalgia” is our Summer 2024 theme! Some ideas our editing team wants to share to get you started in the right direction:
- Memories you love
- What makes you nostalgic
- What do you miss
We accumulate many memories over our lifetime. Memories we cherish, memories we hate, and memories that seem inconsequential can all be ones we look back on with utmost nostalgia. We invite you to share the things you remember, and miss.
Art Show Display:
March 10th, 2024. Open House from 1:30-4:30pm
Wheaton Public Library – Teen Space
*Accepting Submissions until February 23rd.
*All Artists will be notified by February 28th.
Mediums accepted:
- Paintings + Drawings of any medium
- Collages
- Photography
- Jewelry
- Fiber Arts (Crotched, Knit, Embroidery, etc)
- Sculptures
- Mosaics
Not Accepted:
- Blankets, Clothing Items
- Obscene imagery or language (due to the venue)
All pieces will be presented at the discretion of the organizers. The goal is always to be inclusive to all art, however there may be some art that wont be suited for this show and venue.
Art Specifications:
Art work can be no larger than 11″x17″ (this includes the mat or frame)
3D work footprint can be no larger than 10″X10″ and no taller than 17″
Awards:
- Those who attend on March 10th will vote for a Peoples Choice Award
- Multiple VIP’s will vote for their favorite choices
We ask that you fill out two of the following waivers for our organizations to finalize your submission.
Personal information is not shared, it is used internally for our grants.
